Pachiu & Associates successfully represented Carlyle International Energy Partners, a company part of the global investment group Carlyle, in relation to the acquisition of the operations of Sterling Resources Ltd. in Romania, transaction exceeding USD 40 million. The transaction was aimed at the transfer of the participation shares owned by Sterling in certain petroleum blocks in the continental shelf of the Black Sea (XIII Pelican, XV Midia, EX-25 Luceafarul, EX-27 Muridava) through the acquisition of Sterling’s wholly-owned subsidiary Midia Resources SRL, operator in the aforementioned blocks.
The project is a large scale investment in the upstream sector in Romania having as estimated completion date the second trimester of the current year, after several specific conditions agreed upon by the parties are fulfilled and the approvals provided by the law are obtained.
The involvement of the team of lawyers at Pachiu & Associates in the transaction consisted in multilevel activities, including a comprehensive due diligence report and assistance on the transaction documents.
